Not too long ago, I used to declare my Apple watch 2 experience as a lukewarm ordeal, with a very little to boast about. Ever since I have accessorized myself with the Apple watch series 2, people have been on my back asking for reviews, analysis, and probes. My indifference with the device did not necessarily reflect the merit of this apple product but in turn, it expressed my sheer disinterest for the smartwatch segment.
I was never really confident about smartwatches, I wasn’t a fan, and I used to believe that technological devices can be very immersive and can squeeze out a good amount of hours from your day. In a world controlled by devices, buying a smartwatch seemed like a lost bet made on the wrong horse.
However, after a lot of deliberation on my gym and diet routine, I realized that I needed an accurate device that would help me track down my fitness progress. Hence, I equipped myself with an apple smartwatch, a brand that I trust incredibly and a device that I needed, to be perfectly aligned with my fitness goals.
The apple watch is a great addition to any gadget library, the watch offers a lot of resourceful tech support, has a massive app collection, light on the hand, and looks exceptionally stylish and glib.
All being said, I still would shamelessly admit that I was not always a big devotee of the watch. I mean sure, I was impressed by the impeccable quality and efficiency of the product, but I still was indifferent to its existence and its necessity in my life.
However, until recently an unforeseen hardship coinciding with my superlative Apple 2 watch completely changed my mind about this product.
Ok, so let me start from the top…
A few months back, I had a late night, and I realized that I forgot to take a key before leaving. In a sorry attempt to notify my sleep-ridden roommate. I rang the doorbell, almost erratically; but who was I kidding, I thought. The bell has been dysfunctional for a month now and of course; nobody has gotten it fixed yet. Then when I finally took out my phone to call my room-mate, I realized that forgetting to take a key before leaving was not the only mistake I made this night, I also foolishly forgot to charge my phone and now the phone is all out of juice.
As I was damning myself for my absolute carelessness, I started pushing some buttons on my Apple watch. I was hoping to find no-solution, as the watch is connected to the phone, and If the phone is off then how come the watch be doing anything for me, right?
Well, wrong. To be honest, it really did something for me. You see, the apple watch had this thing called the “iMessages” and through the imessage, my watch was able to send a text to my roommate who was surprisingly awake and finally I was saved.
Except from this one life-saving incident. The apple watch has been amazingly effective for all the other reasons I bought it for. The device is unbelievably accurate in tracking my heart rate, running speed, water consumption, and many other vitals. The shake on, shake off-screen is quite handy and it only works when I need it to, the battery isn’t getting wasted unnecessarily.
The biggest reason for my aversion against smartwatches was the idea that it will be time-wasting, but as a surprise, I end up saving a lot of time through the watch. I realized that due to the watch, I have been able to exponentially minimise my cell phone usage, a habit that I was trying to achieve for the longest time.
I use the apple watch to get hold of all my notification, whenever I want. Now, I am not interrupted by the constant sound of pings coming out from my phone, I find myself scrolling the screen much lesser than before. Work-outs have become much more fluid, free and faster. I am loving the uninterrupted gym-time.
That one life-saving incident has made me realize the benefits of the apple watch, I used to believe that all the smartwatches are alike, and it’s nothing extra that an apple watch can give you, except the brand assurance, maybe.
Although my impression has been completely flipped, the kind of consistently superlative experience that I get because of the iOS is surely impossible to find anywhere else. I don’t think there is a gadget out there that can match the sheer style, wearability and overall resourcefulness of an apple watch.
This is an ace of a device, an ace of diamonds certainly.
